Leon graduated from the University of Sydney in 2003 with a Bachelor of Economics (Finance and Economics) and in 2005 with a Bachelor of Laws. He completed his Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice in 2005 and was admitted as a solicitor in March 2006. Leon is currently completing a Masters of Laws at the University of Sydney.

Before joining Atkinson Vinden, Leon spent a number of years working in a leading national law firm and also in a private family business. As a result, Leon has seen both sides of the client-solicitor relationship and uses this experience to understand his clients' objectives when assisting them.

Leon's practice spans across the areas of property law, liquor licensing, commercial and business law and estate planning. In addition to this, his specialisation is in the area of retirement village and aged care law.

As a senior member of Atkinson Vinden's specialist Retirement Village and Aged Care Division, Leon regularly speaks at conferences and training seminars on issues relating to the industry. He acts for retirement village operators in both the profit and not for profit areas, regularly advising them on compliance issues under the Retirement Villages Act 1999 (NSW) and transactional issues relating to their village contracts.

Together with Senior Director, Guy Vinden, Leon is the published co-author of the Retirement Village and Aged Care component of the Thomson Legal strata title looseleaf service.

As well as being a member of the Retirement Villages Association's NSW Regional Committee, Leon is currently a Director and Vice-President of the Chatswood Chamber of Commerce as well as being a Director and past President of the Old Sydneians' Union.

Leon's particular interest lies in retirement village and aged care law, and the associated matters of public policy in this area of the law.
