David has been practising for more than 30 years in the areas of business and commercial, property and estate planning law.  He acts for many large businesses and provides advice on a range of legal issues including:

• estate planning including testamentary trusts, powers of attorney and appointments of enduring guardians
• acquisition and disposal of assets and property
• general commercial advisory work
• property transactions including sale, purchase, property  development and "off the plan" transactions
  

David was admitted to practice in 1976 after 6 years articles with a leading national law firm. He established Atkinson Vinden Lawyers with Guy Vinden in 1978 and oversees the firm's management, resourcing and team mentoring. David has a particular interest in new trends in legal practice and in improving the efficiency of the firm for the benefit of clients.  He is actively involved in the focus of the firm on continuous improvement in all areas of our work.

David's experience includes work in the timber and hardware, medical appliance, stationery, travel and public relations areas and other professional services sectors.

On a personal level, David is married and has two adult children.  His many personal interests include theatre and film, travel, reading, exercise, watching sports, music, politics and history.
