Ann Mary Edwards is a Director and has been with the firm since 1995.  She initially worked across a number of litigation areas.  Ann Mary now works principally in the areas of Employment & Industrial Law and Family Law.

Ann Mary provides advice and guidance on all areas of employment law under the various legislation controlling the workplace in Australia.  This includes advice on the Fair Work Act, state employment legislation, Occupational Health & Safety compliance and disputes, defending actions taken by employees and instigating actions against the employer, understanding and implementing the Modern Awards, the National Employment Standards, assisting in resolving workplace disputes, preparation of Employment Contracts and Enterprise Agreements.  Ann Mary assists many corporate clients to prevent a workplace dispute arising and her objective is to keep the parties out of Court where possible.

Ann Mary also practices in the area of family law, which includes de facto relationships.  Ann Mary will assist you to divide and formalise the division of property after the relationship breaks down, with particular experience in complicated property disputes involving companies and trusts.  Also when children are involved, will assist you to agree and document Orders for the care of the children. 

Ann Mary encourages clients to value the settlement process through mediation rather than start litigation. Ann Mary believes her clients have found more benefit and sense of control to reach their own arrangements via negotiation, rather than have decisions made for them through the Court process.

Her skills have been acquired through many years of formal education that culminated with a Master of Laws.

Ann Mary is an experienced senior litigation lawyer who, when necessary can defend or start proceedings and guide a matter through the Court system.
